We are thrilled to report a highly successful inaugural year for the Grizzly Den program. With 26 applications received, the community response has been nothing short of remarkable! To provide context, the Chinook Grizzly Den received only 10 applications in its first year.
We have included some of the adventure reports below.
Hi there Grizzlies!
We are writing to show you what an excellent adventure we had at the Beaveree that you helped us fund and thank you. We had to get up very early to drive for an hour before we got on the bus! While waiting to board we took this picture of our group.
After lunch we went to a station where we learned an Indigenous game about Bison and Hunters. After that we did an Indigenous craft with beads.
We started our adventure with the bouncy castle, slide and petting zoo. They were very cool. The animals were very soft.
The next station had us making a beaver necklace as a take home craft. We also got to play on the playground equipment.
Then we went to the station where we played parachute games, Tug of war, had a potato sack race and made cards for others as a service project.
It took us a while to find the right bus to go home on. Wendy was a great bus driver.
Then we went to the main building for lunch. Your money helped us fund a lovely hot lunch. We had hot dogs, chips, granola, bars, apples and juice boxes. The Beaveree supplied us with wonderful Beaver cookies and Ice cream sandwiches. We were stuffed.
On the way home we talked about what were the best things about our adventure. The favorites were the Bouncy House, Petting Zoo, Parachute, Sack Race and Hot Dogs. The Scouters loved connecting with other Scouters. Thank you again to the Grizzly’s and the Northern Lights Scouting Foundation for funding our grant. It was a great adventure.
